"The human being is born infinite and dies finite"
Marcello Castellani invites the viewer on an intimate journey through body self-portraits and the representation of ecstasy. With eight small-format works and two large-format pieces, the artist explores their nudity and sensuality for the first time, challenging their comfort zone. In this exhibition, the artist confronts self-acceptance through close-ups of different parts of their body, revealing their identity in an intimate, erotic, and melancholic manner.
The intensely textured works reflect the artists' acceptance of their own mortality. The large-format painting, created in collaboration with the French artist Fry Visuals, captures moments of intense connection, highlighting a kiss at the climax of ecstasy.
Climax and Vulnerability is not just an exhibition of self-portraits but an emotional journey that reveals the complexity of human connection and self-acceptance. It invites viewers to reflect on their relationship with vulnerability, sensuality, and the finitude of the flesh.
